IR2 Venus nightside synthesized false color image by IR2 1.735 µm and 2.32 µm (2016 Sep 05)
A synthesized false color image of Venus using 1.735-µm and 2.32-µm images taken by IR2 camera. Images are colorized as follows: 1.735 µm → blue; 2.32 µm → red; mixture of both → green. On the nightside of Venus, IR2 observes infrared light coming from the lower atmosphere through clouds, and the shadow of the clouds can be seen in the image. Here, bright and dark are reversed to show clouds in whitish color. The left side of this image is the dayside of Venus, which is too bright and masked in black. © PLANET-C Project Team
