LIR 10-µm wavelength image of Venus
A 10-µm wavelength image of Venus captured by LIR (long-wave infrared camera) on April 15, 2016 at 17:15. This image depicts the temperature distribution at the cloud tops and clearly shows the higher temperatures at the south pole. While the bow-shaped structure seen in December 2012 is not clearly visible here, enhancing the image does show the faint outlines of a similar form. (north up)
